Before contacting a business
- Describe the service, town, preferred dates and contact language.
- Ask who will carry out the work and what is included in the offer.
- Ask for a written breakdown of the price, extra costs and cancellation terms.
- Check the business identity and relevant qualifications yourself. A profile review is not a quality guarantee.
- Keep your agreement and contact details. Avoid sharing sensitive documents through an initial enquiry.
Before a removal
- Make a list of furniture, boxes and items requiring special handling.
- Describe stairs, lifts, entrances, parking and access at both addresses.
- Clarify packing, dismantling, loading and reassembly responsibilities.
- Confirm the date, arrival window, route and contact person in writing.
- For cross-border moves, ask the transport business and relevant customs authority which documents your specific move requires.
